Sew Easy's wool batting has the warmth of cotton while being much lighter in weight. Working with wool has a beautiful soft touch as well the satisfaction of working with a natural fibre. As it is breathable, it produces a quilt that is both light in weight and comfortable to use. Great for a three season quilt, wool has a higher loft than cotton making it cosy and cuddly. A great alternative to polyester if you prefer a natural fibre with a higher loft. Quilting with wool allows great definition with your pattern. It also resists shifting and bunching. Soft and easy to needle by hand or machine.
Manufacturer's care Instructions:
1. Machine wash quilts in cold water with a specialised wool detergent only on a gentle cycle.
2. Do not use fabric softener or bleach as this can damage the fibres.
3. Machine spin on a medium to fast cycle to remove excess water.
4. Allow to hang dry on the line or dry flat in the shade on a towel.
Pre-washing & shrinkage:
1. Pre-wash wadding by hand only. Use cool water and wool detergent, soak for 15 minutes, squeeze out excess moisture by rolling in a dry towel.
2. Dry naturally by laying flat.
3. A shrinkage of 4% to 8% can be expected. Pre-washing is advisable for a flat smooth finish to the quilt. If not pre-washed and pre-shrunk, a pretty, antique. ruffled finish to the quilt will result after washing.
